The following is the Help FAQ from Mweor.com. It is listed here as a helpful post And because some do's and don'ts are listed as well.
Q: What are Mweors?
A: Mweors are cat-like creatures that come in all kinds of colors and patterns!
Q: Lesser Mweor? Greater Mweor? What is this?
A: Lesser Mweors are your basic mweor. You start out with one when you start the game. They are very similar in appearance to the average domestic cat. Greater Mweors are bigger types of mweors that follow an elemental path and tend to resemble large cats like lions and tigers.
Q: How many accounts can I have?
A: Two. Any more and you're breaking the Terms of Service (commonly referred to as the TOS) and will risk getting all of your accounts frozen.
Q: How do I get a Mweor?
A: You already should know that you obtained a free Mweor upon joining the site. However, you can purchase 'statues' that, when designed with markings/growths and placed upon the ground, will turn into your own custom Mweor! This, however, is not an essential part of the game, thus is an extra for those who work for it!
Q: Okay, so how much does it cost to play?
A: Absolutely nothing. You do not have to pay to play Mweor. However, you can choose to donate to the site's funds in exchange for MP (Mweor Points), which are a special game currency that allow one to do things such as purchase statues and upgrade your account.
Q: So it DOES cost money to enjoy the game?
A: No, technically you don't have to spend one cent. Due to the ability to transfer MP and regular game money, and trade to and from other currencies, it is completely possible to gain upgrades and customs without spending any real money. It is, however, more work on your part.
Q: What perks do I get when I upgrade?
A: When you upgrade, you can enter your mweor in 35 sparring matches a day (instead of 20), create five sparring matches per day (instead of two), receive a weekly allowance of $10,000, and can get a special monthly item. You also get the chance to wear your own avatar that shows up on the forum boards.
Q: How do I donate to the site?
A: Hover your cursor over "Cattery" and click on "MP Center". By switching between the tabs, it has all the information about how to donate, how to exchange MP, and even shows a history of any MP you have purchased.
Q: How do I send MP or money to another player?
A: Hover your cursor over "Cattery" and click on "Transfers". Here you can send MP and Mweor money to other players, and see a list of previous transfers.
Q: What are the little question marks next to everything?
A: These are the tooltips. If you hover your cursor over them, they will give you help on that item. If you're ever confused about something, look for a tooltip before asking someone!
Q: What is the custom generator for?
A: The custom generator is for you to look at mweors that you could create if you had a statue. The custom generator does NOT create a new mweor. It is simply there to play with.
Q: Can I add markings to my already existing mweors?
A: As of right now, no. Any mweors you start the game with will not gain any markings/growths, and any custom mweors you create, breed, or buy cannot have additional markings/growths added once the mweors are created.
Q: How long does it take a mweor to age? How long is a year in real time?
A: Mweors age three months in-game every 1 day real-time. Therefore, one year in-game is four days real-time.
Q: Can I breed my mweors?
A: Yes! Mweors can breed starting at two years old.
Q: Are there any limits to breeding?
A: Not really. You can breed all mweors starting at two years old. Females stay pregnant for a full year (4 days real-time), and have to wait nine months to breed again. Males can breed as many times as you want. Essentially, you can breed as many times as you want to, providing you have enough mweors in your cattery to do so.
Q: How do I breed my mweors?
A: You can breed two of your own mweors by going to your cattery and clicking on the "Breed" button.
Q: I want to breed my mweor with someone elses mweor. How do I do that?
A: First, the other person's mweor has to be available for breeding requests (which you can turn on at the bottom of the mweors profile page). Then you can just go to that mweors page and place a breeding request.
Q: How many kittens does a mweor have?
A: A mweor gives birth to one kitten.
Q: How do I get money?
A: Games, games, games! Play each game the limit of times a day, and you will surely gain a nice sum of game money. Other than that, random events are a great gift, and sparring matches gain income if you win.
Q: My mweor is unhappy! Why?!
A: Have you remembered to feed, water, and play with your mweor? You can feed and water your mweor from your cattery page, just click on the buttons that say "Feed" and "Water". Remember, each hungry mweor costs $50 to feed. To make your mweor happy, You have to give it a toy by equipping it from your inventory. You play with it by going onto the mweor's page and clicking on the 'items' tab under your kitty's picture, and clicking "Play"!
Q: Can I show my mweors?
A: Not “show” per se, but entering them in sparring matches gains them experience points. The more points your kitty has when bred, the more points the kittens will be born with.
Q: What are the "stakes" of sparring matches? Do I get the entry fee money?
A: When you create a sparring match, you have to enter a 'stakes' amount and the entery fee. The stakes are what will be payed out to the mweors that place in your match. The entry fee is what people will have to pay to enter you match. When you create a sparring match, the stakes fee will be automatically taken from your account. And whenever someone enters your match, you automatically gain that money.
Q: On my Cattery page, it says "Fame" and "Past Fame". What does this mean?
A: Your Cattery gets fame when one of your mweors places first, second, or third in a show. The amount of fame gained is based on what place your mweor got. Your current fame resets every week, so everyone has a chance to be the top fame earner. "Fame" is the fame you have earned for this week. The total amount of fame that your whole cattery has earned is tallied up under "Past Fame".
Q: Is there a limit to the number of Mweors I can have in my cattery?
A: As of right now, no. You can have as many mweors as you like!
Q: Can Mweors die?
A: Mweors 'retire' at age 25. After this, they can no longer breed or participate in sparring matches, but they can still be role-played with if you so wish to. Otherwise, no... no, they don't die. Yay!
Q: How do I get invites? I want to invite my friend!
A: Non-upgraded accounts recieve 1 new invite every week. Upgraded accounts recieve 5 a week.
Q: Do I have to roleplay?
A: No. We are, however, hoping for roleplaying to become an integral part of the game and community.
Q: What are “Tribes”?
A: Tribes are groups of mweors numbering five or more who back up a mweor as their leader. Each tribe owns one of the three groups of land, and battle over disputed lands.
Q: Does genetics come into play on Mweor?
A: Absolutely! But nothing you wouldn't be able to understand. Basically, you're dealing with markings and growths here. The strength (opacity) of a marking depends on the strength of that marking in each parent. If it's 100% on the same marking with both parents, you'll have 100% in the kitten. However, this number can vary by up to 10% either way. So, for example, if you breed two mweors with a marking that is at 80%, the kitten can have a marking strength between 70% and 90% for that marking.
Any marking/growth with an aa below it means that it is recessive, thus harder to pass down to the kitten because if you breed a mweor with a recessive trait to a mweor that isn't a carrier of that trait or doesn't have that trait, the kitten will not visibly display the trait, but will be a carrier. A recessive marking/growth must have an 'aa' allele in order to be visible. For a recessive marking, Aa indicates that the mweor is a carrier of the marking/growth. If both parents are carriers, the kitten has a 25% chance to have the marking show up and a 50% chance to be a carrier.
The AA is also an allele pair which works similar to real life genetics. So if a marking isn't recessive and the mweor has AA for the marking, their offspring are guaranteed to get that marking, regardless of if the other mweor bred to has the marking or not. If the mweor has Aa for the marking, their offspring has a 50% chance to get the marking if the other parent doesn't have it.
Q: I'm bored! What can I do?
A: Stand on your head! Disco Dance! Chase flutter-bys! Or you could simply roleplay on the forums, play some of the games on Mweor, design your dream customs on the custom generator, post on the normal boards to find new friends you have stuff in common with, or even check out related games such as Woolly-Hooves or Furry-Paws! (both owned by Kahlem, co-owner of Mweor, and both free to play!)
Thanks to Larthan (#106) for most of the faq!
